Yesterday, E was telling me about the time when, as a teenager, he spent a month with a fever that fluctuated between 102 and 104. He assured me that there were no "pancakes of brain damage, though."
Me: uh... no pancakes of... brain damage?
E: No. I said no evidence of brain damage.
Me: I distinctly heard you say "pancakes".
E: I don't know what you're talking about.
He thinks he's funny, see.
People think when they're talking to someone who's addled with fever, it's a good time to practice their questionable comedy material. For example, E pointed out that we never hear anyone say "OK, Pigface, this is a very important show. So don't fuck it up." I laughed pretty hard at that one, but I'm not yet well enough to tell if it's really all that funny.
