Why, it's an icon! Etc.

I must be shaking off the winter horribles pretty good now. Finally headed down into the pixel mines again, and brought back the following for my Watery Girl, boadiccea.

Yep, it's the "wistful color wash and subtle swirlies" school of icon design. I'm months behind everyone else, I know, but I'm kind of enamored of this style right now. Hope it pleases.

I'm very cheerful just now, probably due, at least in part, to the spring-like weather. But I'm unaccountably exhausted, despite about 9 solid hours of sleep last night. I simply canNOT be getting sick again. I get my one bad cold or flu per winter, and that's it. So that can't be it. I'll blame the cats. That always works.

Also, I am approaching a garden-obsessed state of mind. It's the time of year. I always bite off more than I can chew, and I'm afraid this season, since I'm a new home owner with the better part of a quarter acre to grow on, will be no exception. I want to plant a circular vegetable garden (designed to be both productive and beautiful) and several trellises of runner beans, and a bunch of berry bushes. Also a crescent shaped herb garden and a few small flower beds. Ugh. This could be bad.

I need garden/landscape advice. You should come over sometime...maybe after book club?

I think that'd work. I'll check with the boy. I am always very happy to advise re: gardening.

I know... the little seed catalogs keep calling my name.....
House inspection went great as well, and kitties are back to their little bouncy selves, though have a patch of fur missing :)
I am glad you are feeling better.... but on a day like today, who could feel bad? It's bloody gorgeous!

Aww. Wish your little ones a fast recovery for me, will you?

I definitely will. Everything looks great, they are healing well. And as an added bonus, Niko has found her meow and uses it a lot now, and both of them are becoming the most attatched lap cats ever.

hmm. depending on how things go, i may need some advice on how to maintain the garden that's already here at R's, for starters. i've never had a yard to play with before. i'd like to start!

and hey, if it gives you pleasure and it's work that relaxes you, then why worry? if you're afraid of overwhelming yourself, pick one or two of those projects for this year. you just bought the house -- it'll all still be there next year. >;)

er, the other R's, that is.

I'd be delighted to advise! Have you got some plantings there already that need upkeep? Are there areas where you're starting from scratch? And do you know if you're just doing flowers and ornamentals, or if you're gonna be doing veggies and herbs?

And I hear about this "R" on your LJ, but I have only the vaugest idea of who he is. I mean, beyond the obvious :) *hug*

i'll tell you about him some time. >:) even better, you'll hopefully get to meet him soon!

as for the yard, his ex-wife had done some pretty extensive work in terms of at least setting up several beds. primarily flowers and ornamentals, but there are also some herbs around. right now, since it's not 100% certain i'll be moving in when my lease is up (we're discussing the possibility), i wouldn't want to start ripping things up and doing my own thing so much as learning how to maintain some of what's already there. if i do move in, well, we'll talk then. >:) my tastes in flowers were somewhat different from hers, although not entirely. i'd probably keep planting the sunflowers.

I like the purple shell! Very nice touch.

Thank you :-)

Honey, do not over do, you start off with one idea and work on others after you do the one. Trying to do it all in one year is back breaking and heart breaking. Pick you favorite idea and do it. You will be fantastic at any and all of your gardening. Love and Light.

Weeeeeell... I was figuring on doing the circular vegetable garden first, and then working on other stuf throughout the season. I know I'm being pretty ambitious. It's a weakness of mine.

don't blame the kittens! They will seek their revenge on you soon, if you do.

PS: I need your mom's live journal address-can you mail it to me?
