I tried to do some quick shopping for the family at Pentagon City en route home, but the crowds drove me screaming from the mall. I truly am less and less tolerant of crowds all the time. But, fortunately, I had a soothing ride home. Traffic was kind of heavy, so it took me a while to get here, but luckily I got one of those cool, forward thinking Muslim cab drivers who listen to NPR all the time and have a bunch of theories about things. This guy was concerned about the rates of breast cancer among Catholic nuns. He had all these ideas about how sexual activity is probably more important to our health than we realize. Of course he was quick to point out that marriage in the eyes of God is probably the only sure way to reap those benefits. Still, he seemed to have such a basically healthy outlook, and a genuine respect for women.
Provided we are able to make it through the winter weather, I'll report from the Frozen North when we arrive. Have safe holidays.
