I'm laying around watching monster movies and puttering in the kitchen for the rest of the week. Wish you were here! But since you aren't, and are more than likely slaving away for The Man somewhere, here are some items to help take the edge off the crushing pain of modern life (it's the crispity-crunchity respite of the doomed!)

To continue with yesterday's literature theme, The Literary Gothic is a great source of morbid stories and poetry online. It's a very scholarly site, with tons of links to author sites and other resources for gothic literature of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Moving on from the sublime to the silly, this here is the most comprehensive collection of "ghost photos" I've seen. It's fun to try and spot the deliberate hoaxes. And no matter how skeptical you are, some of these are truly creepy.

And finally, in case you've never seen it before, I give you the Radiskull and Devil Doll episode Hella Weenie. It's cute and funny... and satanic!

At the insistence of the cats, I am going back to bed now. More tomorrow, boys and ghouls. (And I'm wearing a towel, btw. So the naked thing was just a tease.)

That's a drag. I've been at my job enough years that my boss knows this is a religious holiday for me, and generally just asks how much time I'll be taking. I am fortunate that way. Hope you get up to some wicked fun over the weekend!
