Whoa. Steven Colbert of the Daily Show (astonishingly hot, in a nerdy sort of way) was a total bottom wrung, D&D playing geek in school.

"We were all complete outcasts in school -- beyond the fringe, beyond nerds. We were our own sub-dimensional bubble of the school. I'm not even sure we were on the rolls of any of the classes; that's how outcast we were."

I feel so validated. I... I think I'm gonna cry!

Yes, I've heard he was a geek, too, and that makes me love him more.

Amusingly? Curt Schilling (Red Sox pitcher) STILL plays D&D, is an enormous SF buff, and also (I believe) plays Ultima Online.

Yay geeks!

Oh, and go read this - about someone meeting actor Sean Maher.

That's pretty interesting. One just imagines geeky pursuits and jocks being anathema. That's so cool.

Re: Sean Maher: Aw. Sounds like a real sweetie, which comes through on the show. In sharp contrast to Adam Baldwin. (Eric: "Well, sure. Jayne is a tool, so it makes sense that the guy who plays him is a tool.")

Actually, Baldwin is apparently an amazingly nice guy - we're talking total salt-of-the-earth stuff. It's just his politics that you and I would disagree with. And since he's one of those people who likes to debate, I'm not sure that he doesn't take them to the extreme just to get a good argument going.

That is freakin' gorgeous. Who's the tattooed person underneath?

(please say Jayne. Please say Jayne.)

Hee. Actually, it's Mal. Sorry.

Her work is just… guh! Speechless. Go look at her other fandoms. Lotsa LotR (although I gotta say, I'm kinda squicked by the Faramir/Boromir images, for the same reason I can't read River/Simon fic).

Of course, I'm madly in love with her Jack/Daniel stuff, especially this unspeakably adorable thing. Oh, and don’t post this link around. The artist doesn't want a lot of linkage, and I only post it here cause not a lot of fangirls read my journal.

PS- delicious Spike icon!

Grrr. Simon and Jayne are my OTP. I swear I'm going to make the vid for them before spring. "Will you stop flapping that pretty mouth of yours?"

I'll hit the link when I come back from work. :) And I won't post. Thank you!!

Oh, and thanks for the icon compliments. I've gotten so into the iconage, it's not funny. Here's another one. :)

You know, I really have no OTP in any fandom. Some have more chemistry than others, but I'm... flexible, I guess. I can totally see the Simon/Jayne appeal. And I'll jump up and down and squee if you do the vid.

Wow! Another fab icon! You see, I have to work with GIMP cause we don't have Photoshop. So it's tough. I have about 12 icons in my head I want to churn out, but it takes forever. Ah well.

I will see you on Sunday, when I will come bearing gifts. ;)

We can add him to the list. Apparently Vin Diesel and (comedian) Patton Oswalt are also unrepentant gamers. And of course Will Wheaton.
