A number of people have rolled their eyes at me for my recent fixation with fanfic. Fair enough. Most of it is appalling drivel. But so is most TV, so there you have it. However, I found a cute visual thingy which I defy any Buffy fan to fail to enjoy.

It's an illustration inspired by a fanfic called Impossibly Delightful Flesh. (As the title suggests, NSFW). The illustration is perfectly work safe, though. You can easily recognize Giles and Willow, but everyone else has swapped sexes due to some demonic spell thingy. Everyone is standing with their Season 5 SO, with Spike and Buffy appropriately maintaining some distance. See if you can figure out who's who.

I can't vouch for the quality of the story, not having read it yet, but I think this illustrates what fic is for. I honestly think this would have made a great episode concept, if time and resources had been available to pull it off.

I'm reading the story right now. (At home, not at work.) It's not bad. And as an episode, sadly, it would not have had the sex.

It's inspired by a fanfic story that was done for the Original Star Trek, which I'd read many years ago (when I was 12, maybe) and loved.

And you KNOW I support you and your fanfic thing.

:) I know you do, sweetie. Bless your heart!

The fact that the story is based on an ancient Trek story is really quite charming. Gives it a note of history, and stuff.

Hi, hon!

You know, I'd forgotten that Buffy was actually still with Riley as of this time period, so I'm guessing there may actually be some m/m slash in there, if that's your cup of tea.

And, if you have any favorite authors you'd like to refer me to, I'd be grateful. I'm pretty flexible with my fandoms as long as they're somewhere in the SF/Fantasy/horror realms. I don't really get fanfic written in the realistic genres. But, then again, I don't really do TV or movies that don't have vampires, aliens or some element of the weird, either.

And please, pass them on to me, too!

DJ and I realized at one point that we didn't TiVo anything that didn't have spaceships or dead people in it.
