Mar. 13th, 2002

I'm feeling a little eleven-thirtyish, and it's only five after eleven. I think I'll drink more coffee.

I went to the discount fashion place across the street yesterday at lunch, and bought a blouse, a skirt, a pair of velvet pants, and a cute (if a little cheesy) red and black dress for going out. All for $50. Wheeee! I so rarely buy clothes, that I forget how fun it can be.

Also, we are expecting a big box of faux meat to show up on our doorstep any day now. This is the gods' honest truth!

That is all.

That stuff sounds really cool. I have no fear of fungus. I eat mushrooms all the time.

hey, i'm a fun-gi!
interesting that it's considered less spongy than soy products, given that it's a fungus...

I hear the singer of Horrific Quesadilla used to be in Fear of Fungus...

I'm not partial to mushrooms, but I'd try Quorn. Plus I just like to say it: quorn, quorn, quorn.

BTW, today's Post food section is all about vegetarians (well, mostly about vegans actually).

Heheheh, is that like "elevenses"?
Sorry, I've been watching a lot of Jeeves n' Wooster lately. What's this discount fashion store you're talking about? I need clothes! :)

PS - re: faux meat...what kind? I've recently gotten into Boca products when I'm on a vegetarian kick....

Check this out:

http://www.healthy-eating.com/

This is where I ordered my stuff. We got a package of "unflavored strips" (which are more like medallions really) for use in stir fries and stews, etc. We also got some soy "chicken breasts." We haven't tried them yet, but they look really promising.

Oh, and my favorite part is the veggie jerkies. They are amazing! The first time I tried the Cajun Jerky, the first bite was "ooh, yuck" then by the third bite I was hopelessly addicted. It's so much chewier than anything I've ever eaten. Low fat, low carbs, incredibly high protein. It's the perfect mid afternoon snack. Check this site out!

Hugs.

Cool site, thanks for the link! I've been eating more soy lately and less meat. I've switched to soy milk/soy ice cream (though I do occassionally have the "real" milk product, I prefer soy b/c it's easier on my sinuses.) I love Boca products and am always looking for tasty other alternatives....I've bookmarked the site.
