cultivate a garden

seeds. seeds. seeds. oh my god! seeds.

I just placed an irrationally huge order with the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company. Given that each seed packet contains anywhere from 12 to 100 seeds, I could not grow all of the resulting plants if I had 4 times the available space. But I couldn't help myself! The varieties of vegetables these guys have... it's staggering. I think I was actually pretty restrained, all things considered.

So, some of these little fellas will find their home in the soil of the Great Country Estate, and some I'll just stick in containers. But there will still be a lot left over. If anyone is interested in acquiring some amazing heirloom vegetable seed, please let me know. I'll probably also be starting and hardening off seedlings throughout the season, so anytime you decide you need a tomato plant on your balcony, or some arugula in that window box, say the word. I will probably be more than happy to send you home with something.

Now, to make it through my most hated of all months. Some of my best friends have their birthdays in February, and I know it makes March all the more welcome when it comes, but I really think the drear outweighs the good. Stupid winter.
