Dec. 11th, 2001

We just had a fire drill/evacuation of our building. Several coworkers who are parents were talking about how entertained their kids will be when they tell them there was a fire drill at work!

I always used to love fire drills as a kid, because they were a brief reprieve from the monotony of the day. There never really was a fire, or other serious threat. Now things are different, aren't they?

For wet, gray, chilly Tuesday, I am in fairly high spirits. I think I'll go get one of those fabulous burritos the size of a kitten. Hugs all around!

Fire drills are so cool. My last job kept being evacuated for fire drills, gas leaks, and bomb threats. It was great! We got to hang out at the mall for a few hours each time and get paid for it. Made the day go a lot faster.

I remember back when we were dropping things on Qadaffi's children that we got a lot of bomb threats and evacuations at my school...

oh yes...during the gulf war, i was going to high school with al gore's daughters, james baker's daughter and the daughter of the kuwaiti embassador. we had sharpshooters and secret service everywhere. we had a lot of bomb threats.

incidently, we just had a fire drill in our building. lots of people milling around outside for 15 minutes. what a rousing good time that was.
