We are reading our first play for Spooky Book Club: The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus. Marlowe's Faust. So it's all da duh, da duh, da duh, da duh, da duh.

Please do not misunderstand. I do love me some Billy S and all that, and generally I am fine with the pentameter-y stuff. Maybe it's because it's getting to be the dark time of year that brings on the brain fuzz, but I'm having trouble staying focused. Grah. One of the reasons I remain an atheist is because I can't imagine that a loving god would let ADD exist in the world.

So, I figured some writing would help. I am not as brave as many of you folks, so I'm skipping NaNoWriMo. Instead, I signed up for a fichathon. It'll require far fewer words, and there will be a specific individual who would be disappointed if I fail to post on time, so that removes the option of bailing. And, as many of you universal fic-detractors like to point out, my characters are already created for me, so I don't have to work as hard!

Good suggestion. E and I have talked about taking turns reading out loud. I sometimes complain when we read writers like Lovecraft, who can go on for page after unbroken page of pure description without a line of dialog, but here I have the opposite problem. All dialog, almost no setting. And the rhythm just gets sooooo numbing after a while.
