Second Life as phobia therapy

Here is a product that I am considering buying. I don't really have a large enough body of water for her to swim in, but I might consider finding someplace I can build one.

I think I can handle a baby. It'll take me a while to work up to Mom or Dad, though.

Hee.
Though, really, as phobias go, cetaphobia is pretty manageable. I mean, it doesn't come up all that much.

(I just googled "fear of whales" and got 4400 hits, so you aren't alone...)

Re: Hee.
Yeah, you don't exactly bump into them in dark alleys

Re: Hee.
WHALE: I swear to god, officer, it was dark; I thought she was a hunk of krill. What was I supposed to do. Uurrpp!

I was just telling someone about your phobia recently...

Huh. What was the context, if I may ask? I know it's rather an odd one.

I think we were talking about phobias, in general. I still say I'd rather have yours than mine!

Thanks, sweetie. You know I love them. They just awe me into a state of... dismay? I don't know exactly. I sometimes think they are the dominant intelligent species from another dimension that slipped through a rift or something. They don't seem like they can be indiginous to our universe.

wow. truly, we have entered a new age. hee.

also: that sounds like an AWESOME idea. maybe once you've stepped up to conquering the phobia virtually, you'll be able to move it into the analog world. >:)

Goodness. I had no idea. :)

The HPL sim will have deep water, and would probably welcome a whale or two.

Good luck!

I think dibiophilia will help counter cetaphobia!

Question
How do you feel about the idea of flying killer whales? I only ask because there are at least two different commercials that use them and it's only a matter of time until some demented geneticist jumps on THAT bandwagon.

Mmmmm.... hydrogen bladders...

That star trek movie (4?) must've freaked you out a little. I get goosebumps at that one aquarium exhibit (in B'more) that runs the whale sounds in the big echoey room with all the interactive stations that keep the sugared-up kids busy. Not sure if it's still set up like that, haven't been in years.

I am so confused. They're selling a WHALE???? You know it's unethical to keep a whale in your yard, right?

Wow, what a way to deal with a phobia. Go you for being open to doing it!
