Question for NoVA Dwellers

Can anyone tip me off to a good Pan-Asian place in or around Arlington? Or just a good sushi place that has a few other items, such as tempura or soba soup? I wish Atami were still in business.

I think there's a ton of them in Ballston/Arlington proper.

Or there's Konami in Tysons.

Eden Center (well, it's technically Falls Church, but close enough) near Seven Corners is a large shopping center devoted to all things Asian. Grocery stores, restaurants, boutiques, you name it.

Just looked at it online and the location on Google maps is horribly inaccurate. Follow 50 east from the location marked and you'll find it near the corner of Roosevelt Street and Wilson Blvd near the Ford dealer. (Just east of Seven Coners) You really can't miss it as it has a massive gateway with fu dogs at the entrance.

Ballston Commons has a place - can't remember the exact name, Nouveau East or something like that. Not quite sure how extensive the vegetarian options were, but they definitely had some.

I've had very good luck with Sushi Zen in the Lee-Harrison shopping center, and the newish sushi place (Endo?) on Washington Blvd (under the DEE-luxe apartments where the food bank used to be!) is also good. And there's always Cafe Asia in Rosslyn, which is pretty much pan-Asian personified.

Yes! I've been there and it's good. (But I can't remember the name either.)

sushi plus other japanese food: Matuba, next to the drafthouse.

They serve me sansai udon (mountain vegetable soup?) so I love them.

Ack. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Been offline all day since I posted.

Tomorrow probably isn't good. Gotta work extra hours. Any day next week that's good for you?

Matsutake Sushi
On 23rd Street near Crystal City is supposed to be pretty good. The Thai place in that little strip is pretty good as well.

People speak well of Tara Thai, although it might not be what you want. I find it trendy and expensive and prefer little 'hole-in-the-wall' type places. Arigato works for me, but I'm not sure if there is one in your area.
