Currently obsessed with:

This may come as a surprise to you, but when I strike on a topic of interest, I get a little carried away with it.

No, seriously. Get up off the floor, I speak the truth. Whether it's an author, a TV show, or a new hobby, my enthusiasm can be pretty fervent. And at the moment, I am obsessed with carnivorous plants. Nepenthes, Sarracenia, Drosera, and of course Venus Flytraps. Once I found out that they are not in fact all tender tropicals, and many can be grown very successfully in Zone 7, it was all over.

Many folks seem to be ignorant of how tremendously beautiful many of these plants are. Go here to see some video montages of really gorgeous images. Breathtaking!

It's worth it. I think that the whole area; not just that valley, is so pretty. If you can get a cabin in one of the MD state parks around Deep Creek and take a day trip over there, it's not such a problem.
The mosquitos are pretty aggressive, I remember, so the sundews probably ate good. I think I saw a pitcher plant too, it was all green. It's been over 14 years, so my memory is a little fuzzy on the specifics. I do remember how amazing the pine tree (tamarack?) stand was- they smelled really good.
