OMG, I wrote a story!

Knowing that some of you don't care for fanfiction in general, I've created a new journal where I will post that stuff: fenfic. Currently, there's only one piece, which I just posted. It's the Doctor Who fic I've been working on all summer! Done at last.

Here's the direct link, but don't read it from work, and don't read it just to roll your eyes at me for writing it, OK? That would be needlessly unkind. If you choose to read it, I'd be grateful for feedback. Just be a little gentle. I'm terrified here.

Many thanks to my darling husband, and many of you great people for putting up with me as I was writing it.

Sometime next month, there will be an SG1 story for a ficathon I'm doing, and I might even eventually get around to doing some original fiction. I'm gonna try not to spam you guys with it, so feel free to friend fenfic if you want to. Um. Sorry for alliterating.

...you never need to apologize for alliterating
The almighty alliteration is an amusing antidote for anesthetic afternoons.

Huzzah! I've started writing some X-Men fanfic m'self. I put all my writings on my zimzala_bim LJ. Once I have somebody beta the X-fic, I'll put links up so that everybody can see it. Currently, I've only got it so that about two people can view it.

Oooh, yay! I *love* X-Men fic! I'm on pins and needles, so you gotta let me see soon! (I'll friend zimzala_bim, if you don't mind)

You've been added to the 'Pre-Release Critique' list on zimzala_bim. :)

I'd love to hear your comments, and am really liking the fic that you posted. It's very engrossing.

Ooh, yum! Thanks for letting me see! I will devour it shortly.

And thanks so much for your kind words. You flatter me!

No flattery. I only say what is true :)

Yay! Thanks for everything, darling. You're the best writing mentor a girl could ask for.

Hey, there's no need to be gentle, to my mind - because the fic is remarkably well written. The characters are very much in character, you can recognize their voices from the dialogue you've written, the situation seems very much of a piece with other stories from Eccleston Series 1... the only thing that might be slightly over the top is how blatant Jack was about certain enhancements, but even that can make sense given how frustrated you show him to be by the non-response to more subtle innuendo.

In short, it's written at a professional level, and could easily be turned into a script worthy of actually being directed by RTD.

No - that's actually selling it short. Like some other rare jewels one finds in the morass of generally awful fanfic, it's actually *better* than some published and/or produced stories by professionals. It's miles better than most of Laurel Hamilton's more recent output, for example, if only for the fact that the erotic element springs more naturally from the characters and situation; and the erotic part is more, well, erotic, as well.

Thank you, my dear. Your words are most appreciated. That the characters sound in character is the single most important thing to me.

A number of folks have commented on how the sex-mod thing was a bit over the top, and I think it probably was. But I was hoping it would largely be seen as in character. I dunno. It was a gamble.

You flatter me outrageously by calling it professional quality! *hugs you fiercely*

Heh. Now you have to read some more of my junk at http://www.tthfanfic.com/Author-5165/vitruvian.htm and give me honest feedback. I thought I had voices down pretty well for a while, but by the end of the latest story I was juggling so many characters and events that I'm sure the quality of dialogue fell by a good margin.

Now I'm finding myself moved to somehow integrate this new show Heroes into my already overloaded crossoververse...

Hey there. Well, I've been working my way through Shards. You've got great comic timing! Funny is so hard to do, and you clearly do it very well.

I have to be frank, though, and fess up that I have no frame of reference for Smallville at all, and I usually find crossovers hard to take. So far, it seems like you're taking this one to an interesting place, but... over 26,000 words?!?!

Dude, you are prolific aren't you?

I'll keep at it when I'm able. Really, the quality of your dialog (as far as I've gotten) is really excellent and compelling. If I'm having any trouble, it's with keeping track of events. When you take on a writing project, you go for "ambitious," don't you? ;)
