Burnt out

Possibly because of the 110 degree heat index. Possibly because of stomach pain. I don't know. I'm still enjoying doing massage, but I'm feeling lethargic and uninspired to do much of anything beyond a couple of sessions a day to keep up my end of the bills.

I did finally get somewhere with the Joss Whedon icon I've wanted to make for over a month. I kept starting and scrapping it, and starting again. Here it is, for the taking.

OK, August. Give me a reason to trust you, after July's beastly behavior.

*smooches you again* i suspect the heat plus recent stress. i'm glad you're still enjoying it, though. >:)

Thanks, hon.

Sorry I've been kind of out of the loop. I know you've had an utterly wretched time for the last few weeks, and I think you've been an absolute rock. Go you!

Too Hot!
I'm a Scottish person... I just don't do heat...

There's a reason why all the Scots immigrants went to Nova Scotia ;)

It'll soon be Fall...

Hope you are doing OK otherwise :) We must all get together soon!

It is too hot. Normally, I like hot. But this is truly ridiculous!

I'm very fond of fall, and look forward to it with enthusiasm this year. I just don't like that season it brings along after. The one where everything is dead and sterile and gray, and it's dark all the time :(

Yes, we should certainly get together soon. Our schedule has been absurdly busy, even by our standards. But I think things may slow down after this weekend, when our god-daughter's birthday is happening.

Do you know what M's schedule will be like in the next few weeks? Drop me a line (easiest to reach me at msfenriss @ gmail) and we can try to find some time that works for all parties :)

it was wonderful seeing you and eric out on monday. we must do it again, soon!

It was! You were so generous with your excellent advice. Thanks so much, and we will certainly do it again soon.

I like, but at least on my poorly-calibrated work monitor, the text is hard to parse. You might want to either make it darker or make the glow around it lighter.

(I discovered the same problem with my monkeyponymonster one, but haven't fixed it yet.)

Re: icon
May do that. I *think* I kept the layered file...

Hey, thanks for the DVD player :)

Re: icon
It looks fine on my better-calibrated home monitor.

Re: icon
Yeah, on mine, the text looks subtle but entirely readable. At least for anyone with good eyesight or a current perscription. I could change it, but I did mean for the text to be secondary to the purely visual elements. I spent a long time dodging and burning and color-changing in order to make Joss (a fairly geeky looking fellow, really) look soulful and sexy :)

Bah. What's this about continued stomach pain? It should stop.

Also, much sympathy about the awful heat. It's left NorCal for the moment, but I had giant doses of it last week.

Ah, the stomach pain is being looked into. It seems unlikely to be anything serious, as blood-work and sonogram have ruled out just about anything but minor gastric thingies. Thanks for your concern.

Yeah, I think that same nasty airmass that you had is visiting us now. Bollocks.

Heat is beastly
Remember, heat is just as stressful as a demanding job or other large-scale obligation. We just don't seem to remember this, as it is mostly physical stress (with attendant psychological effects), rather than psychological stress (with attendant physical effects). Take it easy, go slowly, and drink water. Most of all, don't worry - it will get better. *hugs*

Re: Heat is beastly
Hi! I totally didn't catch that you are on LJ! *does a little dance*

Thanks. I do tend to forget the very real problems heat can cause. I appreciate the reminder! It helps me keep a calm attitude with the strange behavior of our clients at work, too.

Re: Heat is beastly
Yeah, that's two years of living a few miles south of the Sahara talking. It *always* took me a while to figure out how much the heat was stressing me out.

Add me to your friends!! I just got this LJ account last week - papertigers dragged me to the computer and guided me through the process. Some fun!

Re: Heat is beastly
Wheee! You are added.

Say, you haven't got any icon! Want some? I've made at least one for M; the Willow/Tara one that says Magick (which was early in my Photoshop career). I'm always looking for excuses to make icons. Lemme know if you're interested. I can do 'em on any topic you like. FYI, it happens that "women" is among my favorite topics! :)

Re: Heat is beastly
Yay! No, I haven't got any images at all (account only a week old), and that would be very very nice.

Thank you :)

Sorry to hear that you're feeling under the weather (literally - 110 degreees?!?) Sending good thoughts your way! *hugs* Oh, and I really like that icon. Joss is a cruel master, but I love him anyway. *g*
Aug. 3rd, 2006 04:11 am (UTC)
Well, 110 is the heat *index* which includes the humidity factor. It's really only been about 102 for a high *rolls eyes*

Yeah, I think we all hate Joss a little bit from time to time. But hate is merely the other side of the love coin, yeah? *loves him muchly*
Aug. 3rd, 2006 04:24 am (UTC)
Ah, I never really did understand meteorological-type-thingies. Still, 102 is plenty hot enough! Oh, I worship at the altar of Joss. Absolutely.
Aug. 2nd, 2006 08:44 pm (UTC)
Oh, sweetie. I'm sorry. I swear, it will get better.
Aug. 3rd, 2006 04:13 am (UTC)
Thank you *lays head in your lap*

I will really be fine. The infrastructure of my life is all beautifully in order. I just have a little tweaking to do. And it needs to return to halfway normal leaves of summer heat!

levels, even.
