My first yoga class went really well. Just as challenging as it needed to be, without making me feel like a total couch-potato loser. I’m still pretty flexible, and my body still seems to remember a lot of the beginning poses. This will be invaluable to my ability to keep comfortably practicing massage. So, yay.

Torchwood is sounding more and more like a British Angel (warning: goofy UK tabloid site). Not that this is a bad thing, of course, but I hope it retains a distinct flavor, and doesn’t get too derivatively Jossy.

Speaking of which, when Christopher Eccleston says “Buffy” it comes out sounding like “Boo-feh.” Which kind of makes me squee a little.

Tonight: Amazing Screw-on Head!

Also? It’s really hot out there.

I hear you on the 'hot out there, stay in here'.

Did you take the yoga class at a gym or studio? I've been doing mostly DVDs, and I'm thinking of joining the gym around the corner from where I live and actually getting to take yoga from a real, live instructor.

But then I'm also scared to do that, too.

I'm a dork. :)

I'm taking a class at the Sun and Moon Yoga Studio on Lee Hwy. It's so totally not intimidating! I'd probably be afraid to take it at a gym (on account of all the stick-thin, leotard clad creatures with hostile, judgmental gazes), but in a studio like this one, it's very relaxing and friendly and safe.

If you'd like to have a buddy to help you get started, I'd be up for trying the Sun and Moon when the next season starts (I'm guessing from their website that this would be September). I've been meaning to for years, which is just lame. Our schedules don't always match up very well but I bet we could figure something out.

Plus then we could hang out for like, healthy juice drinks or something afterwards!

Sounds like a plan! I signed up to receive the newsletter so we know when the fall schedule comes out.

Also, I saw that one of my school parents teaches there! She actually used my room last year to teach a yoga for kids class.

Oooh, color me intrigued! What is this Torchwood of which you speak? Christopher Eccleston saying "Buffy"? Joss-esque? Sign me up!

And I've only tried yoga once, and I took a pilates class once, which I rather enjoyed. I keep meaning to do more, but alas, I am a lazy bum. Perhaps someday...

Yay! Thanks for stopping by, old bean :)

Torchwood! It’s a Doctor Who spin-off featuring Captain Jack Harkness (from the 2005 series). The man is so incredibly beautiful that looking directly at him is a bit like looking into the sun. Which is why he only kinda does it for me; not weird looking enough :)

It’s supposed to be “darker and sexier” that Dr. Who could be, and Russell Davies (creator of both shows) admits that the Joss influence is deliberate. It promises to be brilliant! And there will probably be man-kissing

The bit with CE mentioning Buffy is in one of the Dr. Who Confidential episodes, but I don’t remember which one.

Are we going to get to see it on SciFi???

I sure hope so! I've heard that CBC (A Canadian company) has rights to it for North American purposes, but I'm not sure what that means for us. It'll eventually hit DVD, at any rate.

I'm 99% certain that he mentions Buffy in an actual Dr. Who episode, because I remember squee-ing about it, and I haven't seen any of the Confidentials . . . it's just a line-drop, but very funny. My brain is telling me that it was the episode with the living mannequins, but I could be wrong. But, yes. Boo-feh. <3!

I haven't seen any "Torchwood" episodes yet, but my UK friends have been all atwitter about them. I'm up to "Love & Monsters" in the current/just-ended season (I have relaxed my ban on video piracy in *just this one instance* . . . er, it's not a moral stance, it's generally pure laziness!) No spoilers in my journal, but OMGYAY it's so awesome!!

But of course, old egg! :)

Hmm...I have to admit that, like you, Captain Jack didn't really ring my bell. But darker, sexier Dr. Who spin-off, plus Joss influence, plus potential man kissing? Well, I might have to check it out if it comes over to this side of the pond.

CE. *le sigh* That man does things to me. Indecent things. (Or is that just my wishful thinking again? *g*)

And, btw, I'll be replying to your lovely email soon, hopefully tonight or tomorrow. :)
