Monday morning, quiet but happy

I will probably spend the next 4 hours alone in the massage office with next to nothing to do. But don't feel bad for me. No. It's really a lovely environment, and there are plenty of books and bodywork journals to read.

Of course, if you wanted to stop by with a comment about how your life is going, it would help me be less lonely. I'm just sayin'.

I somehow lost the front license plate on my car, but other than that the weekend was good.

I have another tournament coming up this weekend, so that's what is most foremost on my mind. Speaking of which, I bet if you came and set up your massage table, you'd made a bunch of money massaging tennis players!

Damn kids.

Good idea about sports tournaments. Lots of MTs do that. I need to start trying to market a little more, now that I know where I'm working.

They have lots of massages at races, too, I noticed. I've never taken one though...I'm usually looking for the food by then!

It turns out that the stupid plate just fell off of my car, and someone found it at Safeway! I just got it back! I'm *very* glad it was not stolen...I wasn't looking forward to the paperwork.

Well, I go back to the doctor tomorrrow for my final post-op checkup. I'm still a bit sore in spots, but with luck he'll clear me to start exercising. That means two things:

1) I need to find a gym. Right now, it looks like the Golds in Clarendon is my best choice -- isn't that the one you go to? Any comments on it?

2) Once I start working out, I'm almost certainly going to need massage work. So I'll be in touch on that front next month.

1) We actually go to the Gold's at Rosslyn. I think we went to the one in Clarendon, like, twice before we moved to the Rosslyn one. It was so long ago that I don't think I could give you much info, sadly.

2) Let me know. I'll be delighted to make you an appointment :)

Was there any particular reason you switched locations? Just more convenient to work or commuting route?

The Rosslyn Golds has always been our primary location - possibly you're thinking of someone else who goes to Clarendon?

We did check out the C-Don location a couple of times, five or six years ago. There's nothing wrong with it, but the Rosslyn one is incredibly close to my office, and parking in C-Don is often quite wretched. Nice gym though, and definitely a bigger facility than Rosslyn.

Or maybe my memory just sucks. Thanks for setting me straight.

The Clarendon Golds moved not too long ago; it's now in Ballston, just three or four blocks from my apartment.

I had an amazing and wonderful weekend.
If you give me a call or an IM (louiseroho)
I'd love to give you all the lurid details.

Very glad to hear it!

I can't IM, I'm afraid. V. limited 'net access in general. But I'll try to call :)

C & I had a lovely time with Lee & Louise yesterday, and had a Bullington-McGuire sighting! :)

My ankle is doing much better on a more consistent basis.

BTW, did you get an email with your bday gift in it? I want to make sure it got to you.

Glad you had a good weekend... and yes! I got the gift, and I tried to send a thank you, but I think it went through the Amazon system and somehow got messed up. I keep getting undeliverable messages from it. Meant to call, but... life. Sorry about that.

Very glad the ankle is improving!

  1. i have an inhaler now, which is helping greatly with the fatigue problems. apparently i do, indeed have asthma.
  2. some boys are dumb but i like them anyway, and will even forgive them for being dumb. with a wary eye open.
  3. brazil says "brrrNGAUAUAUAU!"
  4. i downloaded a bunch of billy joel last night from iTunes. because i'm a big fat sentimental dork.
  5. i have room for a bunch more icons now, thanks to LJ's new policy on that, so i took advantage of the lovely dalai lama icon you shared with us a while back. >:D

that's how my life is going. how's yours? >:D

Good on all counts (inhaler, Brazil, Bill Joel and icons) except the bit about boys. Have not been able to really follow LJ, but I did gather that things have been a little rough going. Sorry, sweetie. I'd be happy to be ab ear some time soon, if you like.

And lemme know if you want any custom icons, OK? Need to keep my photoshop skillz sharp.

My life = crazy/scary/wonderful. Yay :)

boy issues: not worth talking about. i think it boils down to him wanting a placeholder girlfriend, and i'm not playing. we'll still hang out, but if he starts acting date-y on me again, he'll be getting an earful. mostly he's okay, and we've talked things out. mostly.

ooh, custom icons! umm.... i could use some more firefly icons, always. kaylee & mal, especially, although a "special hell" icon could be good too. >:D one idea i just had was for a bab5 combo, switching between kosh asking "who are you?" and the shadows (or at least morden) asking "what do you want?" go hog-wild. >:D

yay for crazy/scary/wonderful! mine's getting back that way by slow degrees. keep us posted on how deleriously happy you are. >;)

FYI, I've gotten a start on an icon, which will be pretty darn snazzy if I ever get it done. It's on the Vorlon/Shadow theme you suggested.

For now, here's something simpler, just for you!

I wish a lot of things in my life were better, but at least I have some temporary escape plans in place.

I know I need to get back to you about getting together for coffee sometime soon.

It sounds like you have been having a hard time, my dear. I'm sorry. Please don't worry about getting back to me. I'd love to be a shoulder/ear or whatever you need, but the last thing I want to be is an item on your "to worry about" list :)

Drop me a line if there's anything I can do. *hughug*
