Hurray! Our full spectrum light has arrived! Eric had it sent to his work, so we wouldn't have to muck about with convincing the UPS driver to drop it off without a signature. I'm so happy about this purchase. From what I've read, symptoms can be noticeably better in just a few days of exposure to very bright light (unlike anti-depressant drugs which sometimes take as long as a month to work.) So I look forward to being chipper and energetic by the weekend.

I suppose I should prepare myself for the possibility that the recovery won't be so instantaneous, or even so complete. But I figure to can't hurt to get the placebo factor working for me right away. Hell, even if I just think it's a little easier to get out of bed in the morning, that's an improvement.

Does anybody else suffer from SAD? Or just winter "blahs"? It seems pretty omnipresent, from my observations. I walked into PetSmart yesterday to get some Dalilah food, and the young woman at the counter was leaning quite a bit.

"How are you?" I asked.
"Very tired" she replied.

I get that a lot this time of year.

I wonder if there is any sort of hibernation movement out there? I mean, there's a society for every damn crack-pot idea you can think of. You'd think somebody would be lobbying for humans to shut down all non-essential functions (like, you know, the stock market and the news media) between the months of October and March, and just hit the hay.
