Overall, it's a good day, yeah? My vote mattered for a change. And, although the insidious anti-gay marriage measure passed, it didn't pass by a landslide, which it would have done 10 years ago, I am sure. Things could be worse.

Just for kicks, go to http://sbe.virginiainteractive.org/index.htm and check how your precinct voted. Mine voted 73% for Webb and 77% NO on Measure 1. Makes me proud of my neighbors, at least.

Excellent! My precinct was about the same. Go Falls Church!

Yeah, and Rumsfeld quit! I mean, this doesn't FIX the gigantic ugly mess this administration had mad of this country (and a couple of OTHER countries) but at least it means it is POSSIBLE to fix it.

(I've got $10 says that the Republicans are all of a sudden going to be REALLY concerned with electronic voting errors and fraud now that they LOST.)

Oh, I dunno. I suspect that a significant part of the reason they didn't lose *harder* was because of their fraudulent activities. I doubt they'll want to look to closely at that stuff.

Probably too risky for them to call anyone out on the electronic voting issues, but I guess they don't mind complaining about ballot shortages.

Huh. Interesting. I guess they had to have something to complain about.

It'll take at *least* five minutes, so please don't hold your breath! I hear that when you do that, you pass out, and that's no good. Just keep the fingers and toes crossed - you can survive without those.

Great news! Good for you for voting! I voted in MD and my vote similarly helped the Dems, so I'm all warm and content now.

C'mon, Virginia, I know there's blue in you!

Yay! Thanks for voting in MD!

There's certainly some blue in VA, but most of it is up here in the North. I think the best I can hope for in my lifetime is purple :)
