Early Planning on Halloween Props

Does anybody know if it's still possible to get free or cheap milk crates anymore? In my day, all you had to do was sneak up on a 7-11 in the dead of night. Now it seems like the only option is those "designer" numbers that cost about 12 bucks pop at the Container Store.

I need milk crates. If you've got some you'd like to get rid of for cheap, lemme know.

We got old. Instead of just ripping off the "free" crates, people started publishing how much the things actually cost, and how the cost of the stolen merchandise increased the price of milk for say...single moms. We began to take responsibility for our actions, and become aware of the consequences.

You can get them cheap as dirt from yard sales, dumpster diving, and craigslist. You can also pick them up reasonably priced at Bed Bath Beyond or Linens & things.

In fact, I have never personally stolen milk crates. That was inteneded as a little joke.

Although my callousness toward the plight of single moms is legendary. I just hate them so much!

I believe that we have one we arent really doing anything with other than taking up shelf space. You are welcome to it if you want to stop by our place and pick it up. We live in southern Alexandria near Huntington metro. Email me if you want the crate.

I got mine at Wal-Mart, fairly cheap but it was a few years ago. The good thing about getting all the same brand is that they stack together better.

Is it still stealing if you take them off random DC streetcorners instead of the alley behind the shop?

I think I may have a couple you can have. The Diva won't let me use them as furniture anymore.

They still have them by the 7-11 around the corner from my *sob* old apartment.

(It is a crime to use them for other than their intended purchase, you know. Miscreant...)

OOh, halloween props! Do tell.
And you're not getting my crates. They are too useful and I'm too cheap to get real furniture. ;)

ironically, parchmentheart and i were watching the last 3 eps in season 5 of buffy tonight, and in one scene (in an alley) there they were, piled up by a dumpster. T said, "oh look! there're the crates fenriss needs!" *snort* so if you could, you know, warp the fabric of time and space to get to the buffy season 5 set...
