Icky things I have consumed today

You know that place on Broad St. in Falls Church called “Anthony’s Restaurant?” That greasy spoon, that looks like it’s come through a rift in the space-time continuum from the early 70’s? Yeah. If your digestive system needs a good flushing out, I highly recommend you eat lunch there. Violent nausea is virtually guaranteed.

Also, a cola/coffee fusion drink may look to the caffeine enthusiast like a good idea. On paper. But it’s not. Not only is the new Coke Blak completely vile, but it also contains both high fructose corn syrup and Aspartame. Why choose between diabetes and cancer when you could have both?

Intestinal distress aside, life as a massage therapist is still really great. I still can’t believe “they” are letting me get away with this.

*peeks over shoulder, to see if “they” are sneaking up to drag me back to the chilly, florescent-lighted corporate office*

Coke Blak: For messing with your body chemistry to the fullest extent. That just sounds positively evil.

I used to like Anthony's spaghetti and meatballs w/side salad and garlic bread, but that was years ago, and it was the only thing I'd ever order from there.

(When I was in a band, we'd get dinner either there or at the Afghan place across the street, and then go to Marc's basement to practice.)

I'm sorry you were so violently ill! And never fear, you are safe from "them". :)

Dude, Dudess, I just have to tell you what an inspiration you are to me right now. I wonder what it would be like to have a life in which I am safe from "them".

Hope your gut feels better soon! Love!

I told "them" that you took that left turn at Albuquerque.

In addition to corn syrup and aspartame, it also has acesulfame potassium, which is, according to one study, mutagenic.

That said, I actually kinda like Coke Blãk.

It is disgusting, that place.
I eat the eggs-meat-and-toast breakfast food every now and again. That stuff is exceedingly hard to screw up. But yes, the food there is among the grossest and of all the places I slum, it's probably the slummiest. We chiefly go there out of food-numbed-exhaustion because Betsy can behave like she's gone feral there.

I had to try a Coke Blak at work, because it was there.

Ewwwwwww.

Yucky coffee-soda taste, and I was tweakier on it than I am on Red Bull.

I will stick to my regular old coffee with half-and-half, no sugar, thanks ever so.

Agh! I suck again. Um, I'm probably not going to have a free Wednesday until after our Beltane event, which is the 19th through the 21st. After that, I will *need* to focus on marketing and networking. So, is it OK if I come some time after that? Oh... Also, my Mom is coming to visit from Wisconsin the second week of June, so we've got to completely overhaul the "storage" room into a "guest" room. Ugh.

I really do appreciate your efforts to keep me in the loop about the BNI stuff. It's just that I've chosen to make this Big Damn Career Change at one of our busiest times of the year :(

When I lived back there, I always thought Anthony's seemed like a good idea, but a meatball sandwich convinced me otherwise. Ick. Y'know, though, I warded off the temptation to buy a Coke Blak today, and now your post has made me glad I did.
