Instead of pissing and moaning about what a dismal morning it's been, I will hereby take control of my day and forcibly make it better.

  • Spring is only a little over a month away.
  • I plan to order a bunch tea from here.
  • In about 49 or 50 hours, I will have the exam behind me, one way or the other.
  • Today is my last day in the office until Tuesday.
  • If it snows real good on Monday, maybe I'll get a snow day on Tuesday!
  • For the most part, my life is full of wonderful people, exciting experiences, and lots of comfort and joy. Really.

Tell me something that's going well for you, won't you please?

ETA: Also, E and I have started watching Lost (we've only seen the pilot so far, so please don't spoil me) and we LOVE it! I confess I was a little hesitant on the grounds that it has enjoyed such popularity, and… you know how it is. I rarely appreciate highly popular shows very much. But the spooky factor is really high, and we are eagerly anticipating every episode.

Ooh, a plethora of good fortune. Thank you.

I would love to have a gardenia bonsai. And I didn't know you quilted. That's really cool. I don't, although one of my closest sewing buddies does. I'm thinking I should take it up.

Ah, that reminds me of that time at Cambodia that I wiped out in a puddle of blood. I think that was the time Steve accidentally stabbed himself in the knee. Good times. Or something.

Honestly, I think we're probably all much happier now without all the hijinks and self destructive behavior. I mean, that last time I saw Johnny, there was only one explosion the whole night! I think we've all grow up a good bit.

Um, let's see, going well? I saw an orthopedist today and I'm allowed to put a tiny bit of weight on my right ankle again, and there's actually no old fracture there at all (unlike the radiologist at the hospital's opinion that there was an old fracture there.)

Basically I have an inversion injury, which the doc said is like manna from the gods in terms of if you have to have an ankle injury, an inversion is what you want to have.

So there, I guess that's good stuff, right?

Well, it's certainly "could be worse" stuff :)

Would it be morbid of me if I wanted to ask you some questions to further my knowledge of this kind of injury? Would you tell me if the pain and swelling is primarily on the lateral (outside) or medial (inside) aspect of the ankle? Cause I think I know what an "inversion injury" is, but I should make sure. If you don't mind talking about it?

Also, would you be willing to ask the next doctor you see if post-acute massage would be helpful or not? Cause I could maybe help to prevent scar tissue from building up after the swelling is entirely gone, and the healing is well begun.

Tell me something that's going well for you, won't you please?

I got flowers AND a Hello Kitty watch for Valentine's Day! Today is Half-Price Chocolate Day. And this morning, a coworker paid me a really sweet compliment about a project I busted my ass on for him last week.

I think your list of good things is lovely. I'll be thinking positive exam thoughts for you...starting NOW. (Why wait?) ;)

Aw. Your boy is a prince.

Thanks for the positive exam thoughts. I'm gonna put out a general request before I go on Friday morning, but I could use the good mojo for the studying I'm doing in the meantime, too.

i am really, really glad that i've gotten control (mostly) of my impulse-buying when it comes to tea. >;) thanks for the link, though; looks interesting.

hmm, what's going good for me? i have a new old friend in my life who shares my love of teh cheeze, i watched some farscape last night (season, uh, 4, i think? "meltdown" and "scratch & sniff"), i got viciously attacked by the Mad Drooling Valentine Kitty (no, seriously, there i was minding my own business and suddenly it was all "I WILL KNEAD YOUR BOOBIES NOW AND YOU WILL LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE MEEEEEEEEE!@#!@$#!"), and it's going to be WARM for a couple days. oh, and while money's still tight, i am relatively flush this month.

*hug* just remember to keep breathing, deeply and slowly.

- Last night was a blast at Schadenfreude. I like spinning with a theme.

- I'm seeing Morningwood tonight...for free. And you know how much I love free.

- I have some great friends, a wonderful husband and a roof over my head that I love.

Is that enough for ya?

I'm teaching cow-kitty Oslo to be a "hip kitty". He's learning very quickly, and now sits on my hip when I read in bed before going to sleep. It's so adorable I could faint!

I'm going on vacation in a few weeks!

Colinmac has decided he likes having flowers around the house, so not only were there flowers for valentine's day, but there are also likely going to be flowers at other random times.

These impulse-buy boots are working out really well.

Getting internet in the hosue for the first time in 2+ years.
Got major pat on the back for single handedly taking care of the major network issues on my team last week.

I had a referral interview with someone today to talk about this emergency management/business continuity field. From what he and someone else told me, the barriers to entry for this field are very very high, and I don't have the background for it.

However, he was incredibly complimentary about my skills. And he offered me some contract work. So wow. :D

Also, here is an icon with some baby ducks.
