Stir crazy

OK, I'm doing pretty good with the study, and I'm starting to feel more confident. The mood is high but I am, omg, so restless!

My mp3 player broke. I cannot go for walks without music. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's true. Anybody know where I can get a good deal on a new player? I'd break down and get an iPod, but I doubt the budget would bear it.

The point is, I've had virtually no physical activity since the holidays. Haven't been to the gym. Haven't been out dancing. Just utterly sedentary, and it feels awful. Week after next, I will be back in the gym regularly, but in the mean time, I've got that "cooped up inside" feeling that is such a major contributing factor to winter yuck.

I may be doing some good old manual labor on Saturday morning (digging holes, in fact! yay!) but that is only if it isn't too freezing cold, or raining or snowing a lot. Sigh. I want to get my hands in some dirt and play with seedlings, already!

Sigh. 39 days till spring. 8 days till exam.

i don't know what you're looking for (and i've done no price comparisons) but i have been very happy with my creative mp3 player (even dropped it a couple of times with no adverse effects). the best buys around here have the nano (which comes in 1 gig and something smaller) on sale periodically for right around $100 (with rebate). you have to endure the best buy experience, but it could be worse.

good luck with the exam!

Thank you! Good advice. And I can use all the luck I can get.

Target (and other places I'm sure) have a bunch of MP3 players in the $40 to $60 range. I've got one about the size of a memory stick...the only drawback is that it only holds a little more than an hour's worth of music, but an hour is a decent time for a walk I think.

I've got one that citizen_ken gave me that I plan on using at the gym just as soon as I can find some decent headphones for it! Am I the only person who hates those earbud things? Yuck!

I also hate earbuds. They're really uncomfortable. Until I can get a nano-speaker implanted right into my zygomatic process, it's old fashioned headphones for me.

I hate most earbuds too, but I've found that the tiny ones (which I need 'cause I have tiny ears) that are ear-plug style, specifically the Sony Fontopia headphones, are SIGNIFICANTLY more comfortable than the ones that sit just outside of your ear canal. I don't even really feel them once they are in-place, and they reduce much of the ambient noise of the "world around us".

You are welcome to try mine sometime if you like. My sister was also an earbud-hater, that is, until she tried my little in-ear ones.

I'm also anti-ear bud! I always wondered if my ears were miss-shapen or something, because they never, ever stay in. When I work out, I use my iPod (*must* have tunes!) mini, an armband, and I have really old headphones that go over the head. They are ancient, I've had them forever, but the still work, and feel the most stable IMO.

MP3 Player
I have a old Creative Nomad (30gb) sitting in a drawer if you want it, it was spray painted black (couldn't stand the silver/white combo) and might need a touch up, but it should work still.

Ooh, I just checked and it even has music on it still so you can rock out to 45 Grave.

d00d, if you were any more wonderfully generous, I'd worry. What can I offer you in exchange? You are a prince among men, my friend :)

Hey, hon. I think we'll get started with the seminar part of the show around noon. We'll start out with some lunching, and then do actual teaching/learning stuff when everyone feels up to it. We are very rigidly structured, here :)

Hey, can you bring some oils with you? I figure your knowledge of aromatherapy is waaaaaaay beyond the teensy bit I know!

How about Craig's list?
Have you checked Craig's list? With the frequency that Apple and it's competitors introduce new models, there's probably deals to be had if your patient and haggle.

How're you guys? I think I may be transferring to our Europe offices. Will you come visit if we move to Amsterdam???
