citizen_ken and I were discussing how difficult it is for us to imagine a person going up to someone on a bus and asking them to give up their seat, based on their skin color. And we're only one generation removed. I think that's the legacy.

People talk about how nothing ever gets better, and the world is just consistently going to crap. But, given that only a few decades ago, that kind of thing was considered entirely acceptible, I think we are moving forward, if slowly.
